Q: What’s the deposit to book a show with Creative Sound Productions (CSP)?
A: $200
Q: When do we get to meet with our DJ before our event?
A: Harry O’, the owner of CSP, will be your main contact person until you are assigned a DJ 45 to 60 days prior to your event. At that time, your DJ will set up a time to talk with you a few weeks before your event. Whichever works the best as we have families that book us from all over this great country of ours. Our CSP DJ that is assigned to your event will go over the planner with you so the night will go smooth like you planned it.
Q: How far do you travel?
A: We mainly travel within 50 miles within our market areas but we do have the ability to cover a 5 state region in the Upper Midwest
Q: What sets you apart from other DJ services?
A: Integrity mainly! 30 years now in the DJ business. We average around 200 events a year, mostly weddings. Word of mouth about our DJ’s and quality service is what makes us what we are today. Some of us have been in radio for many years and understand what it is to be an entertainer as opposed to a push-button go by the script robot. The key we think to be a successful Emcee/DJ is the understanding of flow. Meaning the balance on the right music to play, the right words to say in certain moments, and to be able to handle adversity as it shows up.
Q: Your company has so many services and I don’t know what I can afford yet do I have to decide on everything the day I book?
A: No. We actually encourage you to just book the minimum 4 hour package and then take some time to figure out what services you would like to have and what fits your budget. Depending on availability, we let couples book services up to 60 days prior to the event.
Q: When I book my wedding with CSP when does my package time start?
A: When the Bride and Groom with the wedding party arrive at the venue. We will always be playing some type of background music prior to them arriving for free.
Q: Do you provide sound for the wedding ceremony?
A: Yes we do. Its one of our many add-on services we can cater to. We provide the sound system, microphones up to 3, and music for your ceremony if you need it.
Q: Do you carry back up equipment if something fails?
A: We understand that sometimes equipment breaks down which can be very untimely and embarrassing. Be assured that ALL CSP DJ’s have 2 to 3 sources of backup for power, mp3 music playback, and microphones. In our 30 year history, we ave never had to end a show early because of equipment failure!
Q: Can we ask for a specific DJ with your company? Is there an extra charge if we do?
A: Yes you can. All of our talent is valuable to our company so we lease them out on a first booked, first served basis. When you book a certain talent with us there may be a talent fee charge for some but for most we contract it in a way where the talent gets paid extra directly from you if you go past the package time limit. In other words, you will pay CSP for the minimum package for that DJ talent you want, and any extra time beyond that package is paid directly to the talent, excluding a suggested tip!
Q: If I wish to give a tip to the DJ Talent, what is a typical amount?
A: This is never a must. But if you feel your DJ was good at interacting with your guests. Encouraged involvement and played to your planning expectations then we would suggest a 15% gratuity of your DJ package.(ie; $90 to $150).
